Mill Stream Cottage
Mill Stream Cottage is a self catering holiday cottage in Carmarthenshire for up to 5 people which is part of Pen Pynfarch and is situated at the end of a lane half way up a wooded valley, about 1& 1/2 miles from the village centre of Llandysul. There is 40 acres of land which includes woods, open pasture, a lake and the Gwyddil stream the banks of which are a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). There is a wealth of wildflowers, bird life and other wildlife in the valley. Mill Stream Cottage can be hired with The Wren's Nest, which can accommodate up to three people.
"Pen Pynfarch" means head of the mill stream.
The location offers real tranquility and seclusion but at the same time is ideally placed to explore the area, being 10 minutes drive or 15 minutes cycle ride from Llandysul, within easy reach of the market towns of Newcastle Emlyn, Lampeter and Carmarthen and about 30 mins. drive to the beautiful coastline of Ceredigion with it's unspoilt beaches and seaside towns. Pen Pynfarch and the public footpath through its "fairy tale woods" are on a Llandysul Country Walk and also featured in this collection of
Llandysul Trails.
The cottage is part of the traditional stone-built farm building.

Sleeps up to 5 people.
Upstairs there's 1 double and 1 twin bedroom.
A travel cot and high chair are available on request.
The living room has a dining table with an old-fashioned wooden window seat & sitting area with a sofa, sofabed and woodburner,
there's a fully equipped kitchen (fridge with a freezer box & gas cooker), bathroom (with shower above bath) and porch.

The inside is simple and homely with a woodburning stove and supply of logs from site. It is furnished mostly with up-cycled vintage or antique pieces in keeping with the buildings. The cottage has central heating throughout. The kitchen area has been renovated using reclaimed materials and traditional lime plaster and finishes.

There is a TV with DVD player and Wi-fi available. No mobile reception in the buildings, only on higher ground.

You are welcome to bring your family dog (provided they're well behaved).
Included in prices are linen, wood for log-burner, heating, gas and electricity.
There is a BBQ available to use.
We have a swing in a tree and some outdoor games available; you can hang a badminton net in the back garden or a hammock by the lake.
You can usually buy eggs,jam and honey from smallholdings on the lane (walking distance).
We will have a welcome basket of basics (ie. tea, coffee, sugar, milk, oil, salt & pepper) ready for you to get started.
